Strong NIKE Camp contributes to offers

One of the standout performances from last Saturday’s NIKE Camp was by tight end Ryan Moya (6-4, 25, 4.59) from El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge. Moya’s eye opening performance impressed the casual fan and college coaches a like. Moya received three offers last evening (Monday May 24) and seven calls in all.
Moya’s performance was highlighted by a 99 SPARQ rating after clocking a 4.59 40, 4.3 shuttle, and benched 185 pounds 39 times at the camp.

Fresno State was the first school out of the box to offer Moya a scholarship, but after his camp performance
The three offers come from UCLA, Illinois and UNLV. Cal, Washington State, Nevada and Northwestern also called the Moya household last night.
Northwestern even came to the school yesterday and they too could soon be offering Moya a scholarship.
“(Northwestern offensive coordinator) Coach (Mike) Dunbar said that when he gets back to the Northwestern campus he’s going to push for to get a scholarship offer,” Moya said.
UCLA has really climbed up interest after the offer.
“I really like Coach (Jon) Embree,” Moya said. “UCLA thinks that I have a chance to start as a true freshman.”
“UCLA has definitely risen,” Moya said. “USC is still number one but UCLA and Cal is pushing hard for the top spot.”
As a junior, Moya had 39 receptions for 663 yards and eight touchdowns. His performance was good enough to be selected all-conference, all-city and all-section for his junior year performance. His team was 12-1 and Section Champs last season.
Adendum: After this story was written Moya received another offer from Boise State.
Moya has picked up four offers since his outstanding NIKE performance.
