Stoops vs. Jackets battle shaping up

Sometimes you want to stay near home, and other times you want to go out and do your own thing. DeSoto, Texas, defensive back Corey Hall wants to leave the Lone Star State and do his own thing, and that’s why Arizona and Georgia Tech top the 5-foot-10, 178-pounder’s list.
“I just got new offers from Arizona, Washington State, Tulsa, Louisiana Monroe, Duke and Georgia Tech,” Hall, an all-district pick as a junior, said. “I already had offers from Kansas, Boston College, Maryland and Wisconsin, so the new ones were really nice.”

Especially Arizona and Georgia Tech.
“Arizona has the Stoops brothers,” Hall said. “They know that they’re going to focus on defense and that’s a big help for a guy like me. At Georgia Tech, you can’t beat their academics. I know it’s a great school for academics and for engineering. That’s what I want to major in.”
Hall said he could commit before the season starts, but at this point is mainly focused on helping DeSoto finally achieving some of its lofting preseason goals.
“We’re trying to focus hard and work together better as a team,” Hall said. “We’re out there working out together on our own without the coaches telling us to. We know we can be good, but we’ve never followed through on it. We’re going to change that.”
