Kammy Delp has taken the first big step in his recruitment by narrowing his extensive list to seven schools and his next move will be scheduling some official visits.
Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington and Washington State made the cut for Delp, a three-star lineman from Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch. The process of booking trips will be a slow one since he doesn't plan to make a decision until after the holidays.
"I haven't planned anything yet," Delp said. "I'm slowly taking my time with my parents. I'm probably going to announce one soon, like announce the first two.
"We're trying to work out the schedule and figure out whether I want to take some during the season or wait until after the season."
Delp, who has also been offered by Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and Utah, said his decision date is still solid and that over the next few months he will work on finalizing his official visit schedule.
"A decision is still going to be on January 5," Delp said. "I'm going to try to take my visits before that so late December makes sense or even in early December.
"I'm pretty much wide open on the visits. I'd like to take two during the season and then come back and take the other three before the decision in January."
Some new interest is coming in for Delp, who said Notre Dame has requested transcripts and he's definitely interested to see where the Irish stand through the fall.
With so much time left before a commitment, Delp remains open to hearing from new programs.
