Still early for Ross

John Ross wants to take some unofficial visits this off-season and some official trips during his senior year before making his commitment but the Long Beach (Calif.) Jordan is taking things one step at a time.
Ross, a 5-foot-9, 165-pound four-star prospect, is focused on track season and then he will turn his concerns to football as his recruitment continues to pick up.

"It's a little bit too early," Ross said. "I'm going to focus on one thing at a time.
"What I'm going to do is take my visits and make sure I find the right school for me. I want to make sure I fit in perfectly wherever I go."
During a recent tournament in Las Vegas, Ross said Cincinnati, Colorado, Colorado State, Oregon State, Purdue, San Diego State, UCLA, Utah State and Washington have offered.
Cal and Arizona have recently gotten involved for Ross, who's rated as the No. 35 wide receiver in the 2013 class by Rivals.com.
Ross wants to hit the road but he's not sure when or where yet. It's still early for him and the Long Beach Jordan standout is nowhere near ready to make his pledge. No official visits have been set yet either.
"I want to take some unofficial visits yet but I'm not sure where yet," Ross said. "I've talked to my father about it just to get a feel for what visits would be like but we haven't decided where yet."
In recent weeks, Ross said his five favorites were UCLA, Washington, Cincinnati, Oregon and USC but it's still early.
