Stewart ready to hit the road

Arlington (Va.) Yorktown athlete Marvin Stewart has already done a good job of making the rounds and visiting the schools that have offered him. Next week he plans to be on the road even more.
Starting on March 25, Stewart will embark on a five or six-day tour of colleges that will send him to, in order, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech, Virginia and then either Maryland or NC State.

Each of these schools, except North Carolina and NC State, have offered the 6-foot-0, 184 pound athlete, and Stewart has visited each of the schools except for Virginia Tech. It may come as somewhat of a surprise that Stewart has not made it out to Blacksburg given his status as one of Virginia's top prospects.
"Honestly they've been recruiting me since December or January. They've been recruiting me hard," Stewart said. "Coach [Shane] Beamer came up to my school a few times so they've been recruiting me pretty hard."
Each of his upcoming trips corresponds to a spring practice, so not only will Stewart be able to meet with coaches and players, but he will be able to watch players work and interact with those coaches first-hand.
Is it possible that Stewart could be ready to narrow his list once he's done with this next round of visits?
"Probably not," he replied. "I don't know when I'm going to do that or make a decision yet. It's too early to say."
In addition to the schools he is visiting next week, Stewart has offers from Duke, Northwestern, Old Dominion and Wake Forest. He recently attended a spring practice at Duke and has been to Durham multiple times. He has also been to Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia on several occasions.
