Both sides of the ball seem to be a recipe for success when it comes to the play of Huntsville (Ala.) Lee prospect Darian Stewart.
The 5-foot-11, 204-pound safety/wide receiver is having a sensational season and his Lee team is sitting at 8-1 on the year. During the last game, Stewart was no stranger to the end zone reaching it three times. On defense he was a force as well, but he is beginning to like one spot better.
"Oh, I like receiver much better," Stewart said. "That's really where I see myself on the next level. I just have to have the ball in my hands. I'm playing both equally now, but I'd like to see more time at receiver."
Recruiting is also as hot as ever. Two more teams have joined the race with their offers.
"Southern Miss and Arkansas offered," Stewart said. "Those came a few weeks ago. They're both pretty good places. You've got two good teams there and great schools."
Stewart has not yet tackled the idea of visits. He is thinking about taking his official visits in December. His decision will be even later.
"I'll commit in February," he said. "Right now, there aren't any favorites. I'm staying open."
Stewart is rated as the No 16 overall prospect in the state of Alabama.
