Stevens to decide Friday

Last weekend we caught up with Hemet (Calif.) offensive lineman Hamani Stevens who said he would likely be making his college choice either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. That announcement has now been pushed back to Friday.
There aren't too many players left on the board out West but Stevens is the top rated lineman yet to make his college choice. Oregon has been a long time leader and we expected the lineman to choose between the Ducks and BYU this week.

"UCLA is back in the mix now," Stevens said. "Coach Neuheisel and Coach Palcic came to my house yesterday and made a huge impression on me and my family. They really sold my family and my parents like the idea of me staying close to home.
"Coach Neuheisel has put together an amazing staff, seven of their eight coaches have spent time in the NFL and that's important to me. My goal is to play at that level someday and they know what it takes to get a player ready for that level.
"I just need more time to think this over so that's why I pushed it back to Friday. My announcement is set for 12:30 and I'm going to take these next couple of days to think it over and then decide Friday.
"If I had to say I was leaning anywhere right now, it would probably be BYU because they offered my brother Tevita a scholarship but it's not over yet and like I said, I still have a lot of thinking to do."
