Stevens on the verge of more offers

Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway Senior defensive end B.J. Stevens pulled in his first offer from North Carolina State earlier this spring. The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder is on the verge of more scholarships perhaps as soon as this week.
"I've got one offer from NC State," he said. "A few other schools are close. I know Pittsburgh, Illinois and Miami (Ohio) are talking about offering this week or maybe next month.

"I'm also hearing from a bunch of other schools including Iowa and Connecticut."
Stevens just visited one school this past weekend.
"I just got back from Miami (Ohio)," he said. "It was a pretty good visit. I watched my brother play and they told me they'll be offering this week.
"It was nice hanging out with my brother. There is some side of me that wants to play with him. There's part of me that wants to go on my own path. I did like how the coaches there made me feel an important recruit."
Stevens claims he could be on the verge of a decision.
"I'm kind of waiting on Miami (Ohio) to offer," he said. "I might make a verbal and then keep my eyes open to check out other stuff."
Although Stevens could commit, he did discuss what he wants in a college.
"First is academics," he said. "Then it's the coaching staff and the great tradition they have. I want nice facilities and somewhere I can see myself playing."
