Indiana three-star quarterback commit Tommy Stevens made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame on Saturday, and explained whether that should be viewed as a reason for concern by Hoosier fans.

"My coaches at my school and some of my buddies are huge Notre Dame fans," Stevens said. "I knew I had an opportunity to go to a big football game and I just felt like I owed it to those guys to take them to one of their games for all they did for me.
"I'm still 100 percent to the Hoosiers. I knew that going to Notre Dame was going to draw a lot of attention, but I wanted to make it clear it wasn't about me visiting Notre Dame to see what it was about."
Two of his coaches and a teammate, as well as his mother and sister, joined Stevens on the visit to Notre Dame. He approached it more as a chance to see a good game rather than a recruiting visit, however.
"I said 'hello,' to Coach (Matt) LaFleur, but that was really it. I didn't really stay and talk too much," Stevens said. "It was actually my first time in South Bend watching them play so it was a good time for me also."
Stevens committed to Indiana in early June and maintains a close relationship with the Hoosier's coaches.
"I usually talk to them two or three times a week," Stevens said. "I actually called them before I made the trip to South Bend and let them know everything that was going to happen. They were cool about it."
Stevens is also developing a stronger relationship with his fellow class of 2015 Indiana commits, and said they have an on-going group text.
"We are always chatting about who is out there and who we are going to push for next," Stevens said. "I know Mykelti Williams is still out there and he is a must-get for us. I have seen him play in-person and he is tremendous. We'd love to add him to the class; also Isaac James out at Carmel. I know Isaac on a personal level and that's another guy I'd love to have."
The 6-foot-3, 196-pound Stevens has led Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central to a 4-2 record this season by completing better than 60 percent of his passes for 1,277 yards and 14 touchdowns against just three interceptions. The dual-threat quarterback has also rushed 98 times for 651 yards and six more scores.
