Sterling-Coles decisions

Houston (Texas) Westfield quarterback Dillon Sterling-Cole has seen his stock rise significantly in the past few months and the offers have arrived from near and far.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback has been a standout on the camp circuit during the spring, which included an MVP performance at Rivals Speed and Skill Challenge presented by Under Armour in Houston in March.
Arizona State, Boise State, Florida, Houston, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Nevada, Oklahoma State, Temple, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Utah have each extended offers, and Sterling-Cole plans to narrow his list to a few very soon.
"I plan on putting out my top 10 soon, probably at the end of this month," Sterling-Cole said. "I've really been looking at my choices and I've been evaluating how the teams have been doing the past few seasons. I'm looking at the statistics offensively and overall statistics. How their engineering programs are because I plan on majoring in the field of mechanical engineering so that's really a big part in my decision making. I'm just enjoying it. It's a blessing to have these options. God is good."
Houston, Florida, Texas A&M, and Arizona State are a few schools he currently likes but he is not quite ready to say each will be in his top 10. He has an idea of some of the schools who will make the cut, but he is not completely sure.
"I'm still trying to make sure that all the schools on it right now are all schools I really know I'm going to be interested in," Sterling-Cole said. "Right now I'm still trying to get my list together because things might change in the next day or so before we get out of school. So if I were to tell I really wouldn't know right now."
In the past he has named Houston as his leader, and the Cougars are still considered by many to be the frontrunner. However, Sterling-Cole has backed off of leader talk for Houston or anyone else and he does not claim a leader at this time. Soon he plans to change that though, and make his college decision.
"Yes sir, I'll have one in the next couple of weeks," Sterling-Cole said.
With plans to narrow his list and make a decision in the next month, the first few weeks of June could play a major role. He does not have any concrete plans at this time, but he does have a few trips in mind.
"I'll probably try to get some visits around some of the camps I'll go to over the summer, but I'm going to be pretty busy with 7-on-7 and stuff like that," Sterling-Cole said. "Most definitely I'm going to try and get out to Arizona State and UCLA if I get a chance. And most likely Florida."
Sterling-Cole completed 127 of 230 passes for 2,320 yards, 24 TDs, and six INTs in 2014.
