Stephenson taking his time

Blue Springs, Mo., offensive tackle Donald Stephenson has been on a roller-coaster of a ride that's taken him from committed, to uncommitted, to three teams to opening his list back up again. And that's kind of where he's at now.
The 6-foot-4, 282-pound tackle says he's now going to take his time more than ever before.

"Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Texas Tech have been contacting me pretty much every week," he said. "I don't have any new offers, but Oklahoma and Texas Tech have been talking to me a lot. But they haven't given me an offer yet. Oklahoma came up to watch me last Friday."
Kansas, the school he originally committed to, and Kansas State remain near the top as his top two teams, but they do have some company right behind them.
"Right now, it's Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska and Missouri," he said. "If OU and Tech were to offer, they might move up the list. I would think so."
But still, it looks like a KU-K-State battle after taking unofficial visits to both schools earlier this fall. He doesn't know who he'll root for when the two battle at the end of the season.
"I don't know," he said with a laugh. "I'll probably be stuck in the middle."
When he first started out on the recruiting process, Stephenson said he wanted to stay close to home. That might have changed now.
"It was at first, but not really now," he said. "I need to see what the best options are for me. That's why I'm now not planning on taking any official visits until December."
When he's not playing football, Stephenson has been watching a lot of games on TV.
"Yeah I've watched a lot," he said. "The last one I watched was the Kansas State vs. Louisville game. It was alright. K-State looked impressive against a good team like that."
Stephenson missed a game earlier this fall with turf toe. He's due back this week.
