Stellar LB sets first trip

Three-star linebacker Jonathan Turner (6-3, 240, 4.75) from Corona, Calif., is living up to his hype as one of the state of California’s best linebackers. Though Turner’s Corona team is currently 2-3, he has been outstanding so far his senior season.
Turner has close to 50 tackles leading into league play which starts tomorrow (October 18th). It is easy to see why USC, Oregon, Washington and Washington State have all tendered scholarship offers

In an earlier interview with Corona head coach John Brandum said, “Jonathan will be a starter all three seasons he has played the game. He is a man amongst boys.” That’s right folks Turner has only been playing football for three years and he has made an impact in all three.
Turner had 112 tackles as a sophomore in 11 games and followed up that performance with a 103 tackle junior season in ten games. He is a two-time all-league selection and was also all-county and League defensive MVP as a junior.
Turner is very quick for his size and he flies around making plays. He is also playing running back this season and has rushed for 480 yards and five touchdowns.
“USC said they like the way I run the ball,” Turner said. The Trojans like the way he plays linebacker even more. Turner projects as a linebacker on the collegiate level.
Turner has set up a trip to Oregon on January 10th. “I want to set visits to USC, Washington and Washington State,” Turner said.
What does this talent what in a college?
“A school with a good academic record that graduates their players,” Turner said. “A good coaching staff is also a consideration. I also want to be part of a good football program.”
USC has a slight lead over Oregon, Washington and Washington State.
