Stellar camp turns into offer

Wide receiver prospect DeSean Jackson (5-11, 170, 4.38) from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly parlayed his outstanding camp performance at USC this into solid D-I scholarship offer from the Trojans. Needless to say the Poly youngster is on Cloud Nine, but did he accept?
“I talked to Coach Orgeron today and he said that USC wanted to offer me a full athletic scholarship to the University of Southern California,” Jackson said. “They told me I was the first wide receiver from California to get an offer.”

“I then talked to (wide receiver) Coach (Lane) Kiffin and then Head Coach (Pete) Carroll,” Jackson said. “He told me that I have something that no other receiver at SC has and that I could come in and start right away.”
“Coach Carroll said that like Reggie Bush and Keary Colbert that I could play the slot position,” Jackson said. “I didn’t commit yet, but I am highly considering USC.”
“They told me that USC will follow me throughout the recruiting process and if I wanted to end my recruitment early that I should just call them,” Jackson said. “I want to take all five of my trips.”
Jackson of course is also a big time baseball recruit and how does USC feel about that?
“Pete Carroll said he wants me to come to USC and play baseball too,” Jackson said. “I told him that I have been getting a lot of attention from major league baseball. I told him I just received two letters from the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers just today.”
“Coach Carroll told me that USC will work with me whatever happens.”
