Newnan (Ga.) wide receiver Durrell Steagall (6-1, 185, 4.5) is one of the top sleepers in the state of Georgia. Unfortunately not many big name schools are taking notice, but that is in large part due to his academic uncertainty.
“I have some offers from some smaller schools and a lot from junior colleges and stuff because most of the big schools have backed off of me because I may not qualify,” said Steagall.
Steagall has offers from Georgia Southern, Georgia Military College, UT-Chattanooga and a host of junior colleges.
“Georgia was really recruiting me and talking about offering for a while, but they aren’t anymore because I may not qualify. I think I may just go to junior college for a couple of years first and then go through the recruiting process again then.”
So far Steagall has taken an official visit UT-Chattanooga and would like to take one to Georgia Southern before signing day.
Steagall was named the South squad MVP for the Georgia North-South game on December 30th.
