Status quo for Jason Haywood

Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft athlete Jason Haywood has been one of the top defensive players we’ve seen in the state this year. He’s a tall rangy player who could play linebacker or safety in college depending on how much bigger he’ll get in a few years.
Haywood, 6-3, 175 pounds is rail thin right now but is a physical, aggressive linebacker who makes a ton of plays. He’s very strong in run support and can also drop back in coverage and does a nice job against the pass.

Haywood has had a pair of Pac 10 schools at the top of his board and nothing has changed there.
“It’s still Oregon State and Washington State as my co-leaders,” Haywood said. “Both have offered along with Nevada, San Jose State and Marshall and I’m also hearing a lot from Fresno State. I took the SAT two weeks ago and I’m still waiting to get my score back. Once I get the score, I’ll work on setting some of my trips. I definitely want to visit Oregon State, Washington State and Fresno State, those are three I really like a lot right now.”
