States top player headed to ASU

Chans Cox had been considering this commitment for about a week and during an unofficial visit to Arizona State on Wednesday the four-star linebacker and top-rated player in the state by Rivals.com made his decision.
The Lakeside (Ariz.) Blue Ridge linebacker made his pledge to the Sun Devils and Cox said he couldn't be any happier.

"My parents and I came down here for vacation and I felt really good," Cox said. "I always liked the new coaching staff here and everything they've been doing. I'm really happy with it so I decided to make my commitment today.
"I was definitely ready. It was something I've been planning for about a week now. I've thought about it for a long time and we were excited to get down here and get it done."
The new coaching staff at Arizona State definitely played a huge factor for Cox, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound four-star who's rated No. 10 at his position and No. 58 in the 2013 class by Rivals.com.
Ever since he met coach Todd Graham and his assistant coaches, the Sun Devils have remained high on the list for Cox, whose first two offers came from the in-state Pac-12 programs.
"It's all the new stuff that coach Graham is installing," Cox said. "It's the discipline, it's the character and I really look for those things. That's something that meant a lot for me and that's why I made my decision."
It is a major commitment for Arizona State since Cox also had Arkansas, Boise State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, USC and Washington high on his list.
Cox has just made his commitment but does not plan to take any other trips. He said his only official visit will be to Arizona State.
