State POY will take one more trip

Defensive lineman/offensive lineman Derek Kosub (6-4, 295, 5.1) from Reno (Nev.) Hug is considered a soft commitment to San Diego State, but his recruitment is far from over. He will take one more visit this weekend.
Kosub flew under the radar for much of the season but saw his recruitment take an upward turn because of his superb senior season that saw him accounting for 60 tackles, eight sacks, eight tackles for loss, four fumbles caused, fumble recoveries and one pick that he returned 47 yards as a senior.

Kosub's performance saw him earn Nevada State Defensive Player of Year.
Kosub has visited Nevada and San Diego State and was impressed bit both schools. He will take his last visit this weekend (Jan. 27th).
"I will trip to Washington this weekend," Kosub said. "They have pretty much offered me a scholarship."
"If I like Washington, I'll probably sign with them on Wednesday," Kosub said. "I could still sign with San Diego State because I liked them a lot, this weekend could answer a lot of questions."
Kosub brings a lot of versatility to the table. He projects on the D-I level as defensive tackle or run stopping defensive end if he ends up playing on the defensive side of the ball.
If Kosub ends up playing offense he could end up playing center or guard.
"I don't care where I play when I get to college," Kosub said. "I just want to help the team and get on the field as soon as possible."
