State POY to trip Oregon State

This weekend could be a very good one for Oregon State. One of the best players in the Beaver State will be taking his official visit to the Corvallis campus when the State 4A Class Player of the Year visits head coach Dennis Erickson and company.
Three star linebacker Andy Darkins (6-3, 230, 4.67) from Lake Oswego, Ore., is the player that many Beaver fans hopes enjoys his trip this weekend January 10 when heads to Corvallis.

The Beavers hope the trip goes well and that Darkins will join his high school teammate defensive end/tight end Keith Robertson (6-3, 235, 4.6) as a future Oregon State Beaver.
“I will decide between Washington and Oregon State,” Darkins said. “I will make up my mind when I feel comfortable and educated.”
Darkins has already visited Washington and he liked it. “I thought it was nice,” Darkins said. “Washington put their best face on for the recruits.”
Darkins was one of the most highly decorated players in Oregon after his brilliant senior season that saw him selected 4A Player of the Year and League Player of the Year. He was also 1st-team all-state, all-area and all-league.
The honors don’t stop there. He was also a 1st-team Northwest Nugget and a member of the Best in the West team.
Darkins was unstoppable from his linebacker position racking up an astronomical 178 tackles, 95 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a senior.
