State POY takes first visit

Sleeper standout defensive lineman/offensive lineman Derek Kosub (6-4, 295, 5.1) from Reno (Nev.) Hug took his first official visit this past weekend and though he had great time he isn't ready to commit.
"I went to Nevada this weekend," Kosub said. "My trip went well."

"They said they have five full scholarships left and one of them is for me," Kosub said. "I told them I wasn't ready to commit because I'm going to take a couple more visits."
"I'm possibly going to set up a visit to Washington or Utah this coming weekend," Kosub said. "UNLV is trying to set something."
"I've narrowed it down to Nevada, UNLV, Utah, Washington and Oregon State," Kosub said. "I may have to take some mid-week visits because time is short."
"I'm just working with the schools to get the dates together," Kosub said. "I'm pretty sure I will be able to take a mid-week visit to UNLV."
Kosub was honored the Silver State Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 60 tackles, eight sacks, eight tackles for loss, four fumbles caused, fumble recoveries and one pick that he returned 47 yards.
Kosub brings a lot of versatility to the table. He projects on the D-I level as defensive tackle or run stopping defensive end if he ends up playing on the defensive side of the ball.
If Kosub ends up playing offense he could end up playing center or guard.
