State moves up Herrings list

Batesville (Miss.) South Panola linebacker Chris Herring said he still considers himself an Ole Miss commitment, but that's not going to stop him from taking a visit to Mississippi State this weekend.
"Yeah, Mississippi State moved up my list a lot," Herring, who is 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds, said.

"We just basically hung out with the entire team. I had like four hosts. It was tight."
Herring said he's now heading to Georgia next weekend, followed by a visit with the Rebels on Dec. 14. He said he has re-arranged a Jan. 18 visit with Tennessee to a date to be determined and will now go to Auburn that weekend.
"I'm still committed to Ole Miss, but State gave me a lot to think about this weekend," Herring said. "They need linebackers like me, and I think I'd be a good fit there."
Herring said he was not sure how many other players were there this weekend for visits and didn’t hear of any commitments.
