Starnes is staying patient

After being just a tad late on committing to a BCS offer, three-star linebacker Jordan Starnes is waiting patiently to see what happens. Who has shown interest in the 6-foot-3, 224-pounder now?
"I went to Appalachian State this past weekend for the Montana game," he said. "I've also been hearing from Charlotte. I am still hearing from Georgia Tech too. I was going to commit there, but the week before I did, they got a linebacker from Maryland. They still keep in contact though just in case something happens. The only other school I've heard from at all is NC State."
Appalachian State and Charlotte haven't offered yet, but are highly interested.
"Appalachian State usually waits to offer, but they really like me," he said. "Charlotte loves me. Charlotte is one of those that doesn't want to offer unless I'll accept."
Starnes is working on a trip to Charlotte.
What about his visit to Appalachian State?
"It was good," he said. "I've been up there quite a few times and got a private tour of the locker room and weight room. They really like me at tight end and H-Back. They move their tight ends around and use them a lot."
In fact, Starnes claims that Appalachian State is currently leading.
"I really like Appalachian State and Coach Moore," he said. "If they don't offer me, then I've got to look other places, but I'm very interested in them."
Starnes is impressing on the field with approximately 200-yards receiving and five touchdowns in four games this season.
"The season is actually going pretty well," he said. "I've played good and some schools have asked for film of tight end. I am playing linebacker too. The big difference this year for me is that my coach is putting the ball in my hands more."
