Starling taking visits

Hutchinson (Kan.) Hutchinson C.C. defensive end Thatcher Starling is one of the top defensive linemen in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference and the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is definitely getting the type of attention a top prospect should get.
"I like Arizona, Oklahoma State, and the third is probably UAB," Starling said.

"I've been keeping in touch with a lot of schools and coach like coach Michael Smith at Arizona, coach Zoe (Lorenzo Costantini) at UAB, coach Joe DeForest at Oklahoma State and coach Bryan Applewhite at Wyoming.
"I'm really not ready to commit quite yet, I'm just letting everything play out by year. When I make my college choice, it will be a place with a good coaching staff and also a place where I will be able to continue my major in sports administration."
Starling has offers from Arizona, Wyoming and Western Michigan.
Starling has been taking in some college games so far this season. After his team was upset by Highland Community College last Saturday, he traveled to Lawrence to watch Kansas host Louisiana Tech.
"It was a lot of fun, I got to go into the locker room and stuff," Starling said. "While I was at the Kansas game I got to talk to the defensive coordinator (Clint Bowen), the defensive line coach (Joe Bob Clements), and also got to talk to their recruiting coordinator.
"I also talked to coach Mangino after he addressed the team in the locker room after the game."
With Hutch off this weekend, Starling will travel to Oklahoma State for a visit. So far this season, Starling has 16 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
