Star QB Jones talks recruiting

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park quarterback Demetrius Jones, who has scholarship offers from schools from coast-to-coast, says he has narrowed down his list of schools, at least to some extent.
"I have 45 offers now," Jones said. "Most of them are in writing."

Asked if he has narrowed his list down, Jones said, "Sort of. Illinois, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ohio State, Purdue, and Northern Illinois. And Louisville and Oregon, too.
"All of them have offered," added Jones.
Many believe the battle will come down to Illinois and Notre Dame.
"I guess you could say those are my two favorites," Jones said. "But so much can change over time."
And one change recently took place when Notre Dame quarterback coach David Cutliffe resigned due to health issues.
"That was one of my main attractions to Notre Dame," Jones said. "I just talked to him a few hours ago."
Jones plans to visit most of the schools on his list before selecting a college.
"I'm going to try and get around to some schools this summer," he said. "Illinois, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Northern Illinois. I'll definitely try to get to Ohio State. And definitely try to get to Purdue.
"I'll probably pick a college by the end of the summer. Maybe by the middle," said Jones.
The 6-foot-3 and 192 pound Jones is a multi-dimensional quarterback who threw for 2300 yards and rushed for 1100 during his junior season. Jones connected for 21 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He also scored 17 times himself in leading Morgan Park to a 12-1 record.
