Star DB selects one official visit

With so many scholarship offers on the table, narrowing the field down has not been an easy task for Muskegon, Mich., defensive back Ronald Johnson.
"Pretty much everyone has offered," Johnson said. "I don't know how many I have. Just about everyone in the SEC, Big Ten, PAC 10, just about everyone has offered.

"I tried to narrow it down to 10, but I don't know yet. I'm still basically looking at everyone."
Johnson visited several schools this spring.
"I went to Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State," he said. "I went to Michigan State to see a spring practice and a junior day. I went to a junior day and a practice at Michigan. I went to Ohio State for a spring practice."
Of course, many recruiters are calling Johnson.
"I've talked to a lot of them on the phone," he said. "I'm going to visit some more schools this summer, but I don't know who yet."
Johnson has made two decisions. He will take his official visits and one will be to the West Coast.
"I'll probably wait till signing day to announce a decision," he said. "I'm going to take all five official visits. USC will be one of my visits for sure. I don't know any of the other ones yet."
The 6-foot-0 and 177-pound Johnson missed virtually his entire junior season with a torn ACL in his right knee. He had surgery in September and says his recovery has gone well.
"My knee is a lot better," he said. "I'm pretty much back to normal."
