Stanton hopes for more offers

Jordan Stanton already has one Big Ten offer but the Palmdale, Calif., inside linebacker is looking for more offers and that's why he's headed to so many camps this spring and summer.
Stanton, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect, recently attended UCLA's camp and although things went well the Bruins have not offered yet.

The local recruit believes UCLA's coaching staff might want to see more of him during his senior season before an offer comes and he totally understands that position. He's willing to wait.
"Things went pretty good for me down there, everything went pretty good and it was a pretty good camp," Stanton said. "I'm pretty interested in UCLA. It's a really good school and so far it looks pretty good.
"I'm guessing they really want to see how I do my senior year so they're going to wait. I don't know how soon they're going to offer me or if they are. I think they're looking forward to seeing me my senior year so I'm going to showcase my talents during my senior year."
UCLA camp is in the rearview mirror for Stanton, who said he plans to work out at the USC Rising Stars Camp this week and then will attend the Ultimate 100 Camp in Los Angeles in a couple weeks. Stops at Cal and Oregon are also possible this summer. He said interest is coming in from Arizona and San Diego State as well.
If Stanton's senior year goes as well as his junior season then he should pick up some more offers. He finished with 76 tackles, three sacks, three fumble recoveries and one interception and also contributed at fullback.
Rivals.com rates Stanton as the No. 39 inside linebacker nationally and the No. 98 prospect in the California preseason top 100 of 2011.
He said the Minnesota offer is still under serious consideration but he's not prepared to make any commitment until he sees which other programs might get involved down the road.
"I feel pretty good with those guys," Stanton said of Minnesota. "I'm going to see how everything else unravels and figure out what I want to do from there as far as offer-wise until I get some offers and see where I stand."
