Stanley brothers making rounds

Toledo (Ohio) St. Francis DeSales twins Hunter Stanley and Cam Stanley are still waiting on their first scholarship offers, but the brothers are being proactive in getting their names circulated. In the last few weeks they have taken part in several combines and camps.
"We went to the Midwest Big Man Camp in Wixom, Mich., and we both did pretty good there and got into the best of the best [competition]," Hunter Stanley said. "Then, I think we are planning on going to a combine back there in March."

Cam Stanley also took part in the Best of the Midwest Showcase in Ann Arbor, Mich., last weekend, though Hunter had to miss that event because he was dealing with illness. The exposure to other top prospects in the Midwest is not only about generating college interest, but also development.
"I want to work on my footwork and make sure I get that down because I feel that is one of the most important things," Hunter Stanley said. "Of course, I'm working on interior blocking and staying with my blocks."
Hunter checks in at 6-4 and 275 pounds and played guard as a junior, while Cam is 6-4, 260 pounds and played tackle last fall. Both are expected to move into the interior of the offensive line in college.
"I'm thinking guard or center," Hunter said. "Cam plays tackle for us right now, but he thinks in college he'll probably play guard too."
Neither brother has picked up their first offer at this stage of the process, but they are hearing frequently from the likes of Illinois, Syracuse, Northwestern, Michigan, Nebraska, Cincinnati and Wisconsin.
"A lot of them want to get us on campus first and see us at their camp to see if we perform," Hunter said. "We've gone to junior days at Toledo and Bowling Green. We're going to a spring practice at Illinois and we're probably going to a spring practice at Northwestern and one at Wisconsin."
One of the schools that has made a strong impression on the Stanley brothers early in the process is Northwestern.
"We went to two of their games last season and went down to a bowl practice," Hunter said. "We really built a relationship with their coaches. We're still calling them and emailing them."
While both brothers have partaken in many of their recruiting activities together, it is not a foregone conclusion they will attend the same school in college.
"If we go together somewhere, that would be good, but we're not going to hate it if we don't go somewhere together," Hunter said.
There are no plans for the Stanley brothers to stop competing this off-season. They are looking to take part in camps at Michigan State, Illinois, Northwestern, Cincinnati and Syracuse this summer.
