Stanford takes lead for Schwartzstein

The latest scholarship offer for Southlake (Texas) Carroll offensive guard Sam Schwartzstein has put a new school on top of the list.
The 6-foot-3, 257-pounder had previously added offers from Colorado State, Kansas, North Texas, Purdue, and Tulane. Now, a Pac-10 school has added their offer to the mix and have taken the lead for Schwartzstein.

"I received a Stanford offer," Schwartzstein said. "I think I got that last week. I'm very excited. They're my clear No. 1 right now. I liked the education that they offer and as a coaching staff, they're great people. Coach (Clayton) White is my recruiting coach. He's always checking on me and making sure I'm getting things done in school.
"Education-wise, it's the best in the nation and that's key for me. It looks like an exciting place to be with coach Jim Harbaugh."
Schwartzstein says that he plans to get to Stanford sometime this summer, but after attending camps at Oklahoma, SMU, and UCLA, he has no other plans to compete until this coming season. He also plans to get his decision out of the way relatively soon.
"I think I'm going to be deciding this summer," Schwartzstein said. "I haven't made up my mind, but it's looking like Stanford right now."
