Stanford, Syracuse battle for DB

Stanford and Syracuse have each extended offers to Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic safety Shutang Mungwa, and the talented defensive back appears to be torn between those schools.
It's too early to tell if Mungwa will choose between the Cardinal and Orange when decision time rolls around. After all, there's plenty of time for other schools to jump into the mix.

For now, however, there is no doubt in Mungwa's mind that those two schools will be difficult to beat. He admitted they were in favorites in a conversation with Rivals.com recently.
"Oh definitely," he confirmed. "I don't know when I'm going to decide yet, though."
Mungwa recently visited one of those two schools.
"I recently visited Syracuse for a practice and their spring game," he said. "That was this past weekend. I was there for two days. Friday was the practice and I was also there for the spring game. That was my second visit. The previous time I had been up there for the junior day.
"The junior day was broader based. There were more prospects there and I didn't get a chance to engage with coaches. This time I did meet with the coaches, especially the defensive coordinator. He's a great guy and very enthusiastic. I got a great feel for the coaches.
"My interest in Syracuse is definitely very high. As I've said, I'm very high on Stanford and Syracuse. I want to get out to Stanford sometime soon so I can compare both."
Mungwa said he hopes to visit Stanford sometime in May or June. He does not have a timetable for when he will make his decision.
