Stanford scores four-star WR

Osiris St. Brown

Osiris St. Brown always had a dream of playing college football with his two brothers but when it came to decision time the four-star receiver felt he needed to make a different choice.

His older brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, plays at Notre Dame and the Irish made St. Brown’s final two, but Stanford is the school for him and that’s where he committed at noon Friday.

“It was definitely a dream, even if my younger brother was able to go to Notre Dame, that would be a dream, all three of us at the same time,” St. Brown said.

“But I had to make the decision that was best for me and my dad said I had to go with my gut and my gut feeling was telling me to go to Stanford.”

The Cardinal landed a four-star receiver who is ranked No. 20 at his position and No. 147 nationally. He’s rated as the third-best wide receiver in the state of California behind five-star Joseph Lewis and high four-star Tyjon Lindsey.

St. Brown’s decision came down to Stanford and Notre Dame, the two obvious choices where he has so many connections.

A recent visit back to Stanford in the last few weeks with his brother, 2018 receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, really sealed the deal that the Pac-12 powerhouse was going to be the right choice for him.

“I went up there again during the spring with my brother for that camp and I was able to sit down with coach Tavita (Pritchard) during one of his meetings with the receivers and I watched them,” St. Brown said. “It looked like a nice, close-knit family that was really together and I really liked that about them.

“Ever since I was younger when I visited with my older brother, I always felt there was this certain feeling on campus. When I first got on campus, I felt like that was the school for me. I always had that in the back of my head for all these years. When they finally offered I took it more seriously and I went up there for the spring stuff and I always felt that was the right place for me.”
