Stanford scores again

The Stanford Cardinal continue to show that it's not only one of the top up-and-coming recruiting programs in the Pac 10, but also in the nation.
Already ranked in the Rivals.com top 25 recruiting rankings Stanford added a major commitment from one of the top players in Colorado over the Fourth of July weekend.

Denver Mullen tight end Ryan Hewitt is heading to Palo Alto.
"I attended the Cal camp on June 22 and I met with coach Tedford and the tight end coach," Hewitt, the nation's No. 45 tight end, said. "Both are great guys. Then I attended the Stanford camp on June 23 and 24th. I went ahead and committed to Stanford. I like their coaches, and they feel that there is a spot for me even though there seems to be a number of tight end commits."
Hewitt, who is 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, was also offered scholarships by Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Northwestern, San Diego State, Vanderbilt, Washington, Washington State and others.
"Stanford released an early application to me on June 2nd to fill out," Hewitt said.
"I scored a 31 on my ACT, so it was a perfect fit. I am very excited about the prospect of attending Stanford."
