Stanford gets NJ LB

On Tuesday, Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep linebacker Jordan Fox ended his recruitment. One of the best players in the Mid-Atlantic decided to head for the west coast, choosing Stanford over Virginia.
"I'm so excited," said the 6-foot-2, 228-pound Fox. "I'm so happy and blessed to be able to commit to such a prestigious school. It's always been my dream school growing up for athletics and academics. I can't wait to get out there and elevate my game, getting bigger and stronger so I can help the team."

Fox took an official visit to Stanford on January 16.
"We went out there and saw the beautiful campus," he said. "Meeting with the professors and seeing how high the academic success is there. Seeing and talking to the people that were not on the football team was really important and knowing that we were interacting with the next CEOs for big companies was important. Being able to build relationships with them was important."
The trajectory of Stanford's program is something the really caught Fox's eye.
"Football was obviously a big factor," said Fox. "Coach Shaw winning big games in the Pac-12, going to bowl games and building the program to eventually win the national championship, I feel like I fit right into the program. I think it is the right place for me."
Fox's relationship with his position coach played a major role in his decision.
"Coach Peter Hansen, the inside linebackers coach, was my main recruiter," he said. "He was in great contact with me and he could see playing inside or outside, rushing off the edge. He thinks I fit right into the scheme of Stanford. Right from the jump I was excited and ready to go."
As a senior, Fox recorded 87 tackles, had five sacks and forced two fumbles.
