PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Elite 11 Quarterback regional camp at Stanford on Friday was not only valuable to see some of the West Coast's top quarterbacks but also to catch up on the latest recruiting news. Here are some of the newest updates available on many outstanding quarterbacks.
** Canyon Country (Calif.) Canyon's Jonathan Jerozal is heading to Washington State June 19-20 to throw for the Cougars' coaching staff and he's apparently one of three prospects they're considering for an offer. ** Jake Rodrigues, from Rocklin (Calif.) Whitney, is up to six offers with Michigan, Washington, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah and Oregon on his list. He said Florida and Tennessee have also started to get involved and that he'd like to make his decision sometime in July.
** Iowa State commit Grant Rohach, from Moorpark, Calif., said Washington, Oregon and Boise State continue to pursue him but that he's sticking with the Cyclones. Coaches from Iowa State are supposed to make two visits out to Southern California this spring.
** Marc Evans, who helped lead B2G Sports to the Badger Sports Elite 7-on-7 championship in Las Vegas, still has not picked up any offers. The Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure recruit said Boise State, Oregon State and Washington are interested.
** Lake Oswego, Ore., dual-threat quarterback Alex Matthews, who was a backup in his junior season, said Duke has become especially interested recently. Matthews has looked good at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp and the Athens Elite 11 and there's a good chance offers could start coming in soon.
** Tempe (Ariz.) Marcos De Niza's Tommy Thornton is still looking for his first offer but said San Diego State, Washington State and some Ivy League schools are in the mix. He threw for 1,873 yards and 22 touchdowns in his junior season.
** Jason Habash out of San Jose (Calif.) Leland said San Jose State, San Diego State, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington State are interested. He recently took an unofficial visit to Pullman.
** Hood River (Ore.) Horizon Christian's Wyatt Houston, a 2013 prospect, said he isn't hearing from any programs yet but that Oregon State is his early favorite.
** Logan Scott from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade said Nevada, Boise State, Western Michigan, Princeton and Brown have shown interest. He doesn't have any offers at this point.
