Stanford commit checks out local school

Bellevue (Wash.) offensive lineman David DeCastro gave an early commitment to Stanford but decided to spend this past weekend checking out the hometown Washington Huskies. Is his verbal to the Cardinal still as solid as before?
DeCastro, 6-4, 280 pounds is one of the elite lineman in the Northwest this year and one of the few in-state players heading out of state. Although committed, the lineman decided to take one last look at the Huskies and had a great visit.

"Washington has been recruiting me for awhile and asked me to visit," DeCastro said. "I have a lot of respect for the coaches so it just seemed like the right thing to do and I really enjoyed myself.
"I think the best part of the visit was just hanging out with the guys there. I know a lot of the players that are committed to Washington and they were working on me the whole time about joining them at Washington but it was all in fun.
"I've been to Washington a number of times already so I'm pretty familiar with the place. I had a good time like I said, but I'm still pretty solid with Stanford. I mean if Signing Day was tomorrow, I would be signing with Stanford. I already took my visit to Stanford and I just really like it there a lot. Washington gave me something to think about but I'm still going to Stanford."
