Standout SoCal WR setting visits

Wide receiver Charles Smith (6-1, 170, 4.5) from San Diego (Calif.) Helix entered the season as one of the Golden State’s best wide receiver prospects. Though Helix has had trouble getting him the ball his senior season his stock is still extremely high.
Smith hasn’t had the ball thrown to him much this year. But that doesn’t matter much to him. Smith is a very unselfish player. He’s about W’s, not stats.

In five games as a senior, Smith has caught 11 passes for somewhere between 250 and 300 yards with four touchdowns. That is pretty darn productive with the chances given.
Smith has 11 offers from the likes of Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Washington, Oregon and Arizona.
Smith hasn’t set any visits yet but he is planning to set up trips with Oregon in the first week of January and Washington the second week of January. If time is allotted Arizona will also get a visit out of the talented wide receiver from San Diego.
“My time is limited because of basketball,” Smith said. “I’m going to miss enough basketball because of football. So I will probably only take three trips.”
What does Smith like about his final three schools?
Washington – “I like the offensive system and I like the coaches,” Smith said. “The players who I know that attend Washington have nothing but positive things to say about the Huskies.”
“Plus they have an outstanding business program and business is going to my major.”
Oregon – “Oregon has all the same positives that Washington has,” Smith said. “Oregon has been a favorite of mine for a while. I really like Oregon.”
Arizona – “Arizona is close to home and it’s a good area,” Smith said. “I also like the Wildcat offensive system. I don’t know much about their academics, but I am very interested in Arizona.”
Smith brings a lot of versatility to the table. At one time or another, Smith has played wide receiver, wingback, quarterback, and both safety positions. Smith also stars on the basketball team. He’s a very smooth athlete and as a matter of fact, “smooth” is his nickname.
