Stancil heads north

Chesterfield (Va.) Cosby cornerback CJ Stancil made his decision over the weekend. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder made his second trip north to Buffalo and left with a decision in place.
"Well, I went to an event called the Bulls barbeque," he said. "I got to go up and chill with the coaches and their facilities, tour the campus, football field and then we ate lunch after that.

"The head coach talked to each one of us individually about committing or not and I just committed. They were very ecstatic and pretty excited."
What made Stancil pull the trigger?
"It was just for one, the academics, Buffalo is one of the top universities in the country, that's hard to pass up," he said. "Then, you've got the coaches. They were great. The way they explained the visit to me made me want to be part of their program, it's a whole family atmosphere of campus that felt right.
"The coaches are just great people. They seem like they have been contacting me from the beginning and have stuck with me. I felt like they wanted me to be part of their program."
Buffalo is looking at the two-star prospect as a cornerback.
"I've been communicating with the defensive back coach and they really want me there and I feel like it's going to be a good fit."
Overall, Stancil is thrilled with his choice.
"I'm just relieved to have a decision and now I can focus 100% on my high school football season and helping my team go far in the playoffs and hopefully states."
