Yorktown (Va.) Grafton tight end Dylan Stallings landed his first Division I scholarship on Friday. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder landed the offer from Marshall and plans to visit soon.
"It's nice, it's a good relief to get the offer," he said. "I'm going to go visit on the 5th.
"I don't really know too much about them, but I hope to know more when I go up there."
As for other colleges, Stallings plans to hit the camp circuit soon.
"I'm going to Virginia Tech, Maryland, Virginia and I'm thinking about Tennessee maybe, possibly Old Dominion and Richmond too," he said. "Mainly those schools pretty much just want to see me at camp.
"Tech seems really interested and really likes me and would be pushing for the offer at camp. Virginia I just have to go there, I'm not sure what's going on with them. Maryland likes me as well."
The big question is, does Stallings like anybody?
"I just feel like I need to go visit some of these schools, see the campuses and meet the staffs," he said. "I'm going to go on these visits to see where I feel comfortable and what I like about the schools, where I'll feel right for the next four years."
If offers start to fly in, Stallings is hoping to make a decision relatively soon.
"I'm hoping I can wait until the end of the summer, having visited, then I can decide."
Despite his ability to play both ways, Stallings is getting most of his looks for tight end.
