Stafford still solid on top five

Rivals250 defensive end D.J. Stafford continues to have five schools standing out for his services. The 6-foot-3, 263-pounder out of LaGrange, Ga. has one other program that's trying to jump into the mix.
"I've been talking to the coaches from South Carolina recently," he said. "They just want me to come down for a game or something like that. I can say that I'm still looking at them, but they aren't quite in my top five."

At this time, the four-star prospect still hasn't scheduled official visits.
"I haven't done those at all and I don't know when I will," he said. "It seems that my top five are most likely to receive those officials though.
"I'm still looking hard at Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama and LSU. I like Auburn and Georgia because of their style of defense. They are very aggressive. Coach Phillips and I from Kentucky have developed a good chemistry for a long time. I'm pretty tight with coach Turner from Alabama and LSU seems like an interesting place to play."
This season hasn't been the easiest for Stafford as teams are game planning him more.
"I've been playing pretty well, but it's kind of upsetting when a lot of teams run away from you," he said. "That means I have to make plays across the field and that's tough. I do think it's helped me get better. I'm more settled down and have better technique than last year."
