Stafford makes his choice
Quarterback Todd Stafford of Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick continued to gain interest over the last couple of months, but in his heart he already knew where he wanted to go. After attending a junior day at Massachusetts in late February, Stafford gave it a couple of weeks to think over, but yesterday decided that he wanted to make it official.
"I went up there for the junior day that they had at Gillette Stadium," said Stafford. "That's where they're playing their home games. Both times I've gone up there I've gotten great vibes from the coaching staff and the direction the program is heading."

Stafford, who received his offer at the junior day on February 24th, discussed why he decided to make it official yesterday.
"I've been thinking about doing it for the past week," said Stafford. "I've just been talking to my parents, my coach and a few mentors, and we all decided that it is a perfect fit. It just felt right, so I called Coach Sollazzo."
A few other schools have been involved in Stafford's recruiting process recently.
"UMass was my only offer, but Miami, BC and Duke all said they wanted to evaluate and see me more," said Stafford, who is 6-foot-6 and 245-pounds.
Stafford's decision obviously takes a lot of stress off of his shoulders.
"It feels awesome," he said. "Now I can focus on my senior season and give it all I can, and be with my team 100% of the time."
Stafford will still attend the Rivals.com/VTO Sports Camp in New Jersey on April 22nd.
