Stadler plans first official this weekend

Rivals250 offensive tackle Alex Stadler out of Bealeton (Va.) Liberty is seriously considering taking his first official visit this weekend because his team has a bye. Where is the 6-foot-6, 300-pounder heading and what does he want to see?
"I might be going to the Notre Dame for the Michigan State-Notre Dame game, it's probably 75-80% likely that I'll go," he said. "I'm just looking for the overall feeling there and how comfortable I am. I want to see how well I get along with the players there too."

Stadler has taken notice of Notre Dame's quick 2-0 start.
"I'm not very surprised and I've probably become more of a fan of them and routing in their favor," he said. "It's good to see them back in the winning tradition and you want to know a new coach is winning and getting things done. Notre Dame has always been high on my list ever since I was little and especially now that they are getting their act together and turning things around."
Last weekend Stadler took in the Virginia Tech-Duke game on an unofficial visit.
"It was good although a little one-sided," he said. "I went down to look and see how I can help Duke out and it looks like they need some help upfront. I'm sure I can go there and help out in a hurry, that's what the coaches told me. I got to talk to coach Roof and Brown."
The four-star prospect announced one other school currently that may receive an official visit.
"I'm probably going to take one to Alabama later on between October and December. I'm not sure yet," he said. "I'm not ruling anyone out for visits and I'm looking at all the schools that have offered still. I may or may not take all five visits, I just don't know right now."
Stadler has received plenty of calls since the coaches could start on September 1st.
"Everybody on my list has called me. On just the first night I got 22 calls and it's been nonstop since then," he said. "They mostly are keeping up and see how my season is going and telling me how they're doing, just stuff like that."
Last weekend the No. 7 player in Virginia helped Liberty to a 31-15 win over Stafford.
