St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic athlete Chris Davis and his best friend, defensive back Mike Ross, have made their college choices.
According to coaches at the school who requested anonymity, Davis will be signing a Letter of Intent with Florida State as early as Wednesday and Ross will sign with Southern Cal.
Davis, a 6-foot, 170-pound star for St. Petersburg, visited Florida State this past weekend and committed to Bobby Bowden on Monday. Davis is ranked as the 2nd-best athlete in the country by Rivals and will sign his letter either Wednesday or a few days after. Davis chose the Seminoles over South Florida, Boston College and Florida. He'll be a wide receiver at Florida State and has often been compared to ex-Seminole star Peter Warrick.
Ross, a 6-foot, 185-pound safety, decided to head west and committed to Southern Cal on Monday. Ross chose USC over South Florida, Boston College and others. Ross will sign his letter on Wednesday.
