St. Louis TE picks Big 10

Minnesota coach Glen Mason made an in-home visit with St. Louis McCluer North two-star tight end Sam Scroggins earlier tonight. Heading into the visit, Mason had to be hoping that he could close the deal with the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder.
So did he?

“Yes, I committed to Minnesota tonight,” Scroggins, an all-league pick as a junior and a senior, said.
“Coach Mason and coach Browning were here and they were really excited about my decision. My dad was kind of talking to them and he told them that they got a good one. Coach Mason then asked, what he meant. I then told then that I was committing to play football there.
“Coach Mason shook my hand, and was very excited.”
Scroggins said he is now going to cancel scheduled official visits to Georgia Tech, Indiana and Kansas. He visited Minnesota this past weekend.
