Position: Wide receiver/cornerback
Size and Speed: Franklin is 6-1, 180 and ran the 40-yard dash after his sophomore summer in 4.43. He also has a vertical leap of 38 inches.
Favorite Schools: Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, and Colorado are all over this sleeper prospect.
The Skinny: Several recruiting services and publications have missed the early boat on Franklin. Right now he looks to be the best prospect in the St. Louis area. At a summer camp last he was extremely impressive when testing and has great hands. He could project as a receiver or defensive back on the next level.
He transferred to Vashon from Beaumont before his junior year. He was not allowed to play football and after a heated battle with the state association he couldn’t play basketball either. Although he has doesn’t junior film or had the chance to play at Vashon the coaches know what kind of weapon they have.
“He has great physical ability,” said Vashon head coach Reginald Ferguson. “He’s a big target with good hands. He has good concentration and leaping ability. He’s a phenomenal athlete.”
The Missouri Tigers got the early jump evaluating Franklin and have emerged as the early leader. Other schools who are finding about this hidden gem are Colorado, Michigan State, Illinois, and Iowa.
“Missouri has done a great job recruiting him so far,” Ferguson said. “I know there will be a lot more who come through and like what they see.”
