St. Louis recruit needs one phone call

The phone rang for William Franklin. It was the one call that Missouri got to make to the St. Louis prospect during the early recruiting period.
That phone call resulted in good news for Gary Pinkel and his staff.

"I committed to Missouri," Franklin said. "I talked to Coach (Gary) Pinkel on the phone and I told him I was ready to commit to Missouri."
Franklin is the leader to be named the top prospect in St. Louis. Although he didn't play football as a junior his sophomore film and summer camps were enough to attract attention from schools like Missouri, Michigan State, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Colorado.
"It seemed like Missouri did the best job recruiting me and the always sent me mail," he said. "Missouri stuck by me and I stuck by them."
Franklin was forced to sit out last year after transferring from Beaumont to Vashon.
