In a matter of hours on Tuesday, the offensive line took shape for the Miami 2015 recruiting class as it added a pair of Florida tackles in four-star Tyree St. Louis and three-star Brendan Loftus.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound St. Louis first made his announcement to become a member of the Canes from his school, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. About an hour later 6-foot-6, 282-pound Loftus of Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby announced from a local hotel during media day.
When Loftus heard St. Louis committed to Miami as well, Loftus was all smiles.
"I saw him at Rivals Camp and he's a real good offensive lineman," Loftus said. "I can't wait to work with him. It's a big day for Miami. They were telling me they wanted me and this other guy, but I didn't know who it was at the time.
"I'm glad it's Tyree St. Louis."
Both St. Louis and Loftus will wrap up their senior seasons before heading to Miami this summer. There's a chance one or both could see time in the rotation as true freshman.
"They said I can come in and compete for the starting job," Loftus said.
Loftus also said he's "100 percent" committed to Miami and will not be taking official visits.
