St. Louis DE finds home in Big 12

During the season the two names that stood out for Parkway West were Will Paul and Will Meyers. Paul is headed to Michigan and Paul to Indiana.
But Andy Temple had a great senior season for Parkway West. He started on the opposite defensive end side to Paul and he was he one who earned the Defensive Player of the Year in his conference.

He was also voted second team all-metro and first team all-state. The 6-3, 225, defensive end was scheduled to be at Southern Illinois this weekend but a late phone call changed that.
“We were almost headed out the door to Southern Illinois when Coach (Nick) Quartaro called and told us we had a scholarship offer to Kansas,” said Stewart Temple, Andy’s father. “So we went to Kansas.”
The late phone call from Quartaro ended up coming at the right time because the Jayhawks were able to land the St. Louis defensive end.
“He committed to Kansas,” Stewart said. “We had an incredible visit. Everything was first class. We loved the coaches and it was a big-time deal for us. Andy is really excited. The chance to play division one football made the decision easy.”
