Spurlock schedules visits
Richmond (Va.) Henrico wide receiver Brandon Spurlock took his first official visit last month to Virginia. While the 5-foot-10, 185-pounder continues to wait it out for an offer from the Cavaliers. Spurlock has elected to take some other official visits to cover all his bases.
"I've set up visits to Elon on January 12th and William & Mary on the 19th," he said. "I'm still in the process of waiting on Virginia. I've filled out the application and now I'm waiting to see if guys don't qualify or someone drops out of the class.

"I want to take these visits to have something to fall back on. I want to go and check out the schools to see what's going on, on that level of football."
Besides Virginia, one other Division I program has taken an interest in Spurlock.
"Connecticut hasn't offered yet, but they are looking at my film," he said. "I think they are getting close to offering. The coaches are debating which position they want me for, wide receiver or cornerback, but they have told me my chances of getting an offer are pretty high."
If the Huskies offer, how would that change things for the Commonwealth prospect in relation to Virginia?
"That would really mix things up," he stated. "Virginia is the school I want to go to, but if Connecticut offers it would make me think a lot harder."
