Spring game ends busy week for Sharp

Salina (Kan.) Central running back Jake Sharp made his way to Manhattan, Kan., last weekend to watch Kansas State's spring game. That was the end of a week of recruiting activity.
"I wanted to talk to the coaches a little bit after the game," the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Sharp said. "But, I had to get back to Salina. I was able to spend some good time with coach (Joe Bob) Clements before the game and talk to him for a while."

Sharp, who rushed for 2,330 yards as a junior, has yet to receive his first scholarship offer.
"Nobody has offered yet," he said. "Things are happening pretty quick right now. Colorado State called me Sunday night.
My coach (Marvin Diener) told me that a lot of schools have been calling him to set up times to come by and see some film.
"Coach (Mark) Mangino from KU was by the school Tuesday to see me. Coach (Scott) Downing from Nebraska was by the school last week, and a coach from Tulsa was by last week too."
Sharp is not in a hurry to make his college choice.
"I am letting it all soak in. The top three are Colorado State, Nebraska and Kansas right now. After the NIKE camp in Manhattan this weekend, I'll have a good feeling where I am and then I'll decide what camps I want to go to this summer."
