Spriggs close to a decision

The recruiting picture is starting to come into clearer view for Elkhart (Ind.) Concord Community tight end Jason Spriggs, and the 6-7, 265-pound prospect may have a decision on his college future as early as next week.
"I think I am getting close," Spriggs said. "I have narrowed it down to my top three - IU, Northern Illinois and Bowling Green and I am visiting all three this week, so I should have a real strong feel next week."

Spriggs has already made a visit to Indiana's campus this week. He and a friend drove down to Bloomington on Tuesday and the trip solidified the Hoosier's place atop his list for the time being.
"They are definitely No. 1. You can't beat the academic side of IU, especially their medical sciences," Spriggs said. "We got into more detail and got my tours at camp and junior day, but [Tuesday] we got into more detail about what classes would be like and what my schedule would be like my freshman year."
Listed as a tight end, Spriggs has talked with Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson about the possibility of moving down and playing the tackle position if he was to sign with the Hoosiers. Either position would put him on the same side of the football as Indiana's big recruiting pickup this week - Columbus (Ind.) East quarterback Gunner Kiel.
"When I was down at IU they said he was coming in [Wednesday]," Spriggs said. "He's an amazing quarterback, and that's definitely something I am looking for. Gunner Kiel is a real spot-on kid. I've never talked to him, but I've seen some of his highlight reels."
If neither Northern Illinois nor Bowling Green can displace Indiana at the top of Spriggs' list with his visits to those schools this week, the Elkhart native's family would be on board with a selection of the Hoosiers.
"They were all with me at camp," Spriggs said. "I think [Indiana] is No. 1 on their boards too."
