THE LATEST: Speights took an official visit to Oklahoma in October, and he has visits scheduled to Stanford (Nov. 27) and Vanderbilt (Nov. 20). He planned to take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M this weekend but he is taking the SAT. He currently plans to make his college decision after the season in November or December. On the field Speights has rushed for over 2500 yards on 184 carries and has 40 touchdowns. Memorial is currently 9-0 and preparing for the playoffs.
IN HIS WORDS: On his OU official visit: "They definitely roll out the red carpet for their recruits and I enjoyed my time there in Norman. The thing that probably stood out to me the most was the way they run the ball and how I fit into the offensive scheme."
On his favorites: "I would have to say I have it narrowed down but I'm not ready to release it yet."
On what he is looking for in his college choice: "I'm looking for good academics and an offense that utilizes my skills and the way I run the ball. Distance really doesn't play a factor into my decision, so I don't care if your close or not. Whatever is the best for me I'm going to choose that school."
RIVALS' REACTION: Speights was not ready to release his narrowed list, but Oklahoma, Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M sure seem to have his attention. He has already visited Texas A&M in the past and the Aggies have been a popular prediction for Speights. Right now the Aggies remain the prediction.
