Speer, spears an offer

One of the fastest rising offensive line prospects on the west coast is Adam Speer (6-3, 275, 4.9) from West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade. Speer just came back from an unofficial visit swing that included Oregon State, Oregon and Stanford. Speer’s stock has soared ever since he had a terrific showing at the Nike camp held at Stanford last May.
The trip up the northwest coast was a productive one for Speer as he received his first offer from Oregon State. Stanford is also very interested and has started his application. Once he is cleared, Speer could get an offer from the Cardinal.

News travels fast in the recruiting world. When Speer returned from his Northwest tour he had a letter from USC saying to get his tail over to USC because the Trojans want to talk to him.
Speer will be at USC on Wednesday (August 20th).
UCLA, where Speer had a solid performance during the UCLA camp last June, also had letters waiting for him when he arrived home. The Bruins also invited Speer out to visit their practice session.
Speer will be at the UCLA practice on Sunday (August 24th).
Speer brings a lot to the table due to his versatility. A two-way standout Speer plays offensive and defensive tackle. He plays the all important left tackle position for Chaminade, but he probably projects as an offensive center or guard on the D-I level.
In an earlier interview with Rivals.com Chaminade head coach Ben McEnroe said, “Adam is a very polished pass blocker for a high school player. Most of the time kids are better drive blockers on the high school but Adam excels at both.”
“Adam has long arms and quick feet,” McEnroe said. “And he knows how to use them both.”
“I may have seen Adam run a 5-flat once,” McEnroe said “He runs a legit 4.9.”
Though Speer is very interested in Oregon State and Stanford, UCLA and Notre Dame are still very much on Speer’s mind, too.
